I use N52 neodymium magnets for many things, but mostly for holding materials to a chassis while making custom textile products for off road vehicles and race trucks. These are not only very strong, but they are tall enough you can easily bend it off to break the magnetic pull. From a flat pull on thick solid flat steel, good luck getting it off, you will have to bend it off and use plentyof force. Now on a refrigerator it's not as bad and will hold multiple pages under one magnet. The day they arrived, we played with them on our 1-1/2" thick cutting board. Doing hands free tricks and placing one on each side of the board and guess what they hold. Not that you don't already know this, but you can drag one with another one from 8 inches away. But once they are within 6" or less of each other watch out, they jump and slam stick to each other, so if your flesh is on the surface of a magnet you will get pinched blood blistered and hurt. So watch the kids and yourself. I'm glad to see MagnetPal putting these together in the states, but I know the best neodymium is mined in China since I use so many in my business, and the good ones aren't cheap. These are the good ones!Hopefully this was helpful,Thank you!I've collected several magnets over the years. Some I considered "strong" until I got these. Now I know what a truly strong magnet can do. I have a booklet I like to keep on the refrigerator. I used to have to use three to four "strong" magnets before, but now I only have to use one of these magnets to keep it up. Not only does it keep it up, but you can tell it can handle a lot more weight on top if needed. I like that these are only about an inch long and don't jut out a lot. They don't take up a lot of space and are simply designed. I'm definitely happy to have these on hand for the thicker stacks of paper that other magnets couldn't hold.First of all, since these do not have a decent surfacer area, no matter how good the magnetic pull is they can't hold things in place very well, they tend to slide on the fridge. I got a few sets of these steel-clad magnets the had integrated hooks and are twice the diameter of these. I hang small to medium utensils on the fridge, over or a steel cabinet. I've even used to hand a large aluminum pizza peel on the side of the gas oven to keep it handy. These would not work well for that. They have a limited use if hung upside down, but not sideway due to their holding power. While they would work as fridge magnets to hold notes and some things in place, they would be considered overkill. I got a set of 10 for a third of the price for multicolored magnet sets, which while not as strong as these are still plenty strong to do the job.They did come with rings similar to a key ring so if hung upside down you might be able to hook some moderately heavy stuff on them, but it's still way overpriced. I also take issue with the construction, I can't really test directly that easy, but I've had failures on a number of fridge magnets that used a plastic keeper where the keeper just pulled off leaving the inner magnet in place. Plus, those with steel keepers can use less potent magnets and achieve the same power when in use by increasing the surface contact area more. Not recommended.
